Melbourne is home to the famous Queen Victoria Market. The market is situated at the top of town and draws in hundreds of tourists and locals each day.It takes up two whole blocks!
At the Vic Market (as the locals call it), you can find anything from fresh fruits, veggies, flowers, meats, fresh seafood, shoes, clothes, souvenirs, and even a pet shop! The reason why the Vic Market is so great is because there is a lot of variety and it is cheap. Perfect for a backpackers budget!
The grocery stores are quite expensive, so lots of people use the Vic Market to do most of their shopping. It is open five days a week, and closed Mondays and Wednesdays. Although, Wednesday nights they have a night market where they sell wine, and have free concerts. Even if you are not looking to buy anything particular it is a great walk, and a fun place to window shop and people watch.
Cool! It reminds me of the St. Lawrence Market in T Dot, although I'm sure yours is way bigger! BUY YOURSELF SOME STEAKKKK!
